The dancers from DanceAbility Hong Kong have been establishing ties with the participants from Hong Kong PHAB Association. The journey started to unfold from June 2019. The relationship among the group transformed from strangers to friends who share the dance, thanks to the regular classes, rehearsals and the experience to perform together as a team in two different occasions.
The title of the piece is 《序流》; 「序」in Cantonese means 'a beginning' or ‘prologue’, since it points to the fact that it was the very first cooperation of these two organizations. On the other hand, 「序」shares the same pronunciation with 「聚」, which means ‘gather’ or ‘togetherness’. We decided to use the word 「流」since it signifies the flowing of river. The river receives water while it runs its course. Water or river also symbolizes the versatility of dancers, who are continuously moving and evolving when encountering individuals from different backgrounds.
